Hey guys. Can you believe it’s #TGIF already? Our livers are already shook by our over-packed social schedules, we’ve turned off all our alarms for maximum shut-eye, and we can almost hear an overpriced plate of smashed avo calling our names. What a time to be alive!

Last weekend, we mastered the art of perfectly smudged black liner, and now we’ve got our sights set on the trend that’s sweeping the globe: The graphic eye. To ensure you don’t wind up looking like a Year 7 art project gone wrong, we recommend you keep the rest of your face as bare as possible when giving this hot look a whirl.

To begin, prep your skin. Make sure your skin is smoother than D’Angelo’s sexy time banger, ‘Brown Sugar’ by introducing your face to Dermalogica’s Daily Superfoliant. Once you’ve sloughed off a week’s worth of dead skin, start to put some moisture back into your face with a serum, moisturiser, and primer. Our haute picks for this week are Drunk Elephant’s T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum, Mario Badescu’s Oil Free Moisturiser, and the MAC Prep + Prime Fix +, respectively.

Once you’re sufficiently happy that your skin is the glow-iest it can be, it’s time to make those eyes pop. We generally pass on wearing makeup in our everyday lives, owing to reasons of acute laziness. If you’re of the same ilk, this is a perfect way to flex your ~artistic flair~ without depleting your limited energy supply ahead of the weekend. Equip yourself with a fun eyeshadow palette (the adult equivalent of a packet of crayons), and pick a shade, any shade. We’re currently digging primary colours and metallics, but the world is your palette, so don’t be afraid to get a lil’ creative. Once you’ve applied the shadow of your choice, whack on some mascara, highlighter, and lip balm, and you are good 2 go.

If you have any reservations about trying this one at home, know that every young Hollywood thang is championing it, from Sasha Lane to Rowan Blanchard. Hip! You’ll also draw comparisons to every cool manga character, which, let’s be real, is the ultimate going out goal.

Your local pub, restaurant, bar, or club is going to be 1000% more lit with you in it this weekend, you graphic-eyed kween.
