Thalea Michos-Vellis is a fashion stylist coming straight outta Melbourne. Outside of increasing our eyeballs’ quality of life with her impressively-curated Instagram – where she mixes up pics of cute cats with evidence of her sweet styling skills, and even sweeter wardrobe – the lil’ legend is ~in the know~ when it comes to bewty.

Skincare has become super important to her ever since she, in her words, “realised I needed a daily routine to give my morning and night some structure… Like, ‘Okay, now it’s time to start your day’, or, ‘Cool, you can unwind now.'” That’s an approach we can wholeheartedly get behind. She (rightly) thinks make-up is the perfect way to complement an outfit, and since playing with and organising colours and textures is in her blood, it makes sense that she’s always on the hunt for new eyeshadows, liners, and lipsticks. She’s also a fiend when it comes to packaging, which became super apparent when we asked her to list her five ride-or-die products.

Omorovicza Queen Of Hungary Mist

One

This face mist is something I use over make-up for a dewy look, or on bare skin for extra hydration on the days I feel like keeping it light. When I first used it, the smell took me way, way back to early memories of spending time with my grandma. I can’t quite pick what the scent is, but I love it.”

Comme Des Garçons Standard

Two

“The first ever perfume I bought, years ago, in 2012, I think. It has always stayed a favourite, and until this day remains my most worn fragrance. I find perfume very exciting, and am always adding to my collection. What I love about Standard is how good it is to mix with other scents… For a while I would wear it with Diptyque Eau Mohéli religiously.”

2

Nude Skincare Omega Cleansing Jelly

Three

“I prefer to use a non-foaming cleansing oil or jelly daily when I wake up and when I head to bed. I find this type of cleanser helps soften my skin, keep it hydrated, and remove any make-up/sunscreen most effectively! At the moment, I swap between the Nude Omega Cleansing Jelly and the Shu Uemura cleansing oil. Shu Uemura just brought out a collaboration with Ambush – the packaging is amazing!”

3

Shu Uemura Eyeshadow

Four

“On a day-to-day basis, I generally keep my face hydrated and mostly cover-up-free, so as a way to keep things interesting, I like to add eyeshadow. Shu Uemura makes the best colours and has the most options… At the moment, I’m drawn towards purple and glitter. Always glitter. This palette was gifted to me by a friend, and is a part of the Takashi Murakami collection.”

4

Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation Serum

Five

“I have never been passionate about SPF, but luckily my foundation serum by Perricone MD has me covered (literally). This serum is the ultimate foundation. It’s light, silky, and never drying. On days I don’t want to wear foundation, I turn to Rationale’s B3-T Superfluid Sunscreen SPF50+. This is a relatively new addition to my shelf, and so far, so good!”
