Rebecca Larsson Barsotti is the superstylin’ Style Manager at Retrosuperfuture, a position she has held since the brand’s genesis eight years ago. Working to actualise the Super dream inspired her to start her own brand, Ack, in 2014. The swimwear line aims to emphasise and celebrate all the different body types out there, and to “empower women to feel adequate and at ease, regardless of their forms or shape.”

Rebecca is a self-proclaimed relentless observer of shapes, colours, and lines, in any form. At the end of the day, she’s in the business of making women “feel strong and peaceful… when all they are wrapped in is a single fibre of lyrca.” When she’s not making us feel good about ourselves in a swimsuit (no easy feat), you’ll find the Swedish/Italian honey encouraging good hygiene in her loved ones, playing with her Glossier products, or applying a face mask while she lazes about the house. Oral Hygiene (In General)

“I really have a thing for oral hygiene, to the point where I sometimes ask my boyfriend if I can take care of his as well. Not because he doesn’t, but because I really like it. I like to only do it on people I know really well, though, so if you were thinking that I should be a dentist, the answer is no. I don’t like to stick my hands in strangers mouths. Anyway, Marvis has always been my favorite toothpaste. My dad has always used it  it gives you really fresh breath, and doesn’t taste like that chemical mint taste of most toothpastes. My favorite flavor is the classic one  the strong mint. When I moved to Paris, one of the first stores I visited was l’Officine Universelle Buly. I was so impressed by the beauty of their aesthetic and how they develop every single product with care. I bought this mouthwash that is super good, and gives me exactly the same feeling as the Marvis toothpaste, so it became a must.”

Byredo Blanche

“Here we come to a super delicate topic: My perfume. I’m really protective of it, to the point where I didn’t know if I really wanted to mention it in this story, even though I know that everybody knows Byredo. I’m not the kind of person who changes perfume every day— when I find the one I like, it becomes the one. Since I started wearing perfume at thirteen-years-old, I have changed it four times. With Blanche, something chemical happened. I was not searching for a perfume when I discovered it. I was in Stockholm and they had just opened their store — it was really beautiful, so I decided to take a tour. They made me try all their perfumes, and I was impressed by how Blanche was not covering my natural smell; it was just transforming it in a fragrance. I love when you feel the smell of a person and you can’t really tell if they are wearing perfume or if it’s their natural scent. If I could, I would ask Byredo if they could sell Blanche only to me, even if I know that at the end it has a different smell on every person.”

Makeup

“I have the same natural-feel approach to makeup that I have with perfumes. Or, let’s say that I like really opposite looks: It has to look super natural, or really strong, like colorful lipsticks and bright eyeshadows. For my everyday look, I go for Glossier products. They make you look fresh, natural, and give your skin that perfect glow. My musts are the Perfecting Skin Tint and the Haloscope highlighter. When it comes to a stronger look, a classic is the Ruby Woo lipstick by MAC. It has a perfect matte finish without making your lips look too dry, and is really long-lasting.”

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Foaming Gel

“I have to admit that I’m a little bit lazy about my beauty routine, even though I know how important it is to take care of your skin (especially when you live in a big city like Paris, with lot of pollution). For this reason, I have a few select products, so I don’t need to do too many steps. They are accurately picked by my dermatologist to suit my skin. I have a super sensitive skin, so it’s really important that I keep the right balance. I generally prefer to buy products from drugstores rather than from boutiques. One of my favorite brands is La Roche-Posay: I wash my face every morning with their Effaclar Foaming Gel cleanser, and I use the Cicaplast Baume B5 with SPF 50 to protect my skin from the sun and prevent marks.”

Kiehl's Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Masque

“I do masks two times a week. It’s a good boost for my skin and goes well with my lazy moments. My favorite mask is the Kiehl’s Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Masque. It’s incredible how you can see the results directly after you have washed it out, and the skin feels immediately more smooth. I also use the Rare Earth Pore Refining Tonic every day, as it helps to keep the clean feeling of the mask.”

Kerstin Florian Clarifying Moor Mud Masque

“I interchange the Kiehl’s mask with the Kerstin Florian Clarifying Moor Mud Masque. It’s an organic mask that softens and revitalizes dull skin. I got it in Sweden the first time at a super good spa where I got a facial with my grandma :).”

Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm

“Talking about the perfect bond between amazing scents and quality products, my response is Aesop. Their deodorant is super good, because it doesn’t smell like a deodorant, and it makes you feel super fresh. A classic for me is their mandarin hand wash, and next to it I have the dispenser of the hand balm with the same aroma, so I remember to put lotion on almost every time I wash my hands.”
