Hey! I’m Isabelle, a twenty-two-year-old, Brooklyn-based, Russian-American student and self-proclaimed skincare addict. I am the Wholesale Buyer and Head Editor at The Break, and I study advertising and marketing at The Fashion Institute of Technology. When I’m not working or at school, you can find me at any of Brooklyn’s waterfront parks staring at dogs or at any of Manhattan’s Sephoras staring at skincare.

I always had acne-prone skin as a young adult, but moving to New York from Atlanta exacerbated my already problematic skin. That’s when I decided to become more invested in taking care of my skin. Two years later, my skin is finally where I want it to be. I learned what works for my skin type (oily), spent a little too much time and money in beauty stores, and finally found my holy grail of skincare.

Tata Harper Clarifying Mask

Let me preface this by saying: Tata Harper, will you adopt me? I cannot say enough good things about this mask, it completely changed my skin. Tata Harper can truly do no wrong in my book, especially since her products are cruelty-free and organic. Put on a thick layer two to three times a week, leave on for twenty-ish minutes, wash off with warm water, and move hands in a circular motion to exfoliate.

Clarisonic Mia

This little tool must be sent from the heavens. I feel like my hands can only do so much when it comes to cleansing. Enter: the Clarisonic Mia. I use this three times a week, usually at night in the shower. I add my Fresh Soy Cleanser or my Boscia Purifying Cleansing Gel and voilà: clean, baby skin.

2

Dr. Hauschka Rose Day Cream

Whenever I decide to treat myself to a professional facial, I use the opportunity to ask my esthetician a million questions. During my last facial (shout out to Great Jones Spa), my lovely esthetician, mentioned this product to me. I immediately ran to Whole Foods and covered my skin in this angelic moisturizer. It is now a staple in my skincare line-up. I use a little bit of this every morning and it leaves my skin feeling just the right amount of moisturized.

Glossier Generation G in Jam

I have never been very good at makeup so this effortless lip is a longtime favorite of mine. The only lip color I wear, it’s the perfect amount of red and purple. I cover my lips in Burt’s Bees, rub Jam messily on top, smudge my lips together and head out the door.

Diptyque Figuier Candle

The smell of freshly brewed coffee is the only scent that can compete with this. This candle was first given to me as a gift from a dear friend, and now I am forever hooked. I like to ration it out so the candle lasts a long while but it’s so hard when it smells that good. I recommend getting yourself one of these on your next pick-me-up shopping spree.
