This particular round-up goes out to my décolletage. Sorry I’ve been so neglectful all these years. Sorry that I religiously slapped sunscreen on my face, but let you peek out from beneath the shade of my favourite tree at the beach when I was a teenager. #SorryDefinitelySorry that I wore low-cut tops only until you got so burnt that I covered you up by virtue of social shame. One day you’ll seek your revenge, but for now it’s time for me to atone.

And what better way to apologise than by getting silky smooth skin courtesy of all the best body oils on the market? There is none. So I did. Here goes!

Words, Madeleine Woon.

Linda Rodin Olio Lusso

One

To write a round-up on body oils and not include Linda Rodin’s would be the most sacrilegious thing a person could do in the beauty industry world. The littest lady we know is the irrefutable master when it comes to bottling up heaven-sent oils for the face and body. She believes in her products so much, that she doesn’t use a drop of anything else. And she’s definitely on the money; I’ve never known such luxury as I did the first time I doused my entire body in her Olio Lusso. My décolletage was crying happy little tears of joy. Happy little hydrated tears of joy, mind you.

1

Nars Body Glow

Two

Want to go lay on a Haitian beach, but don’t have the annual leave or funds to do so? Lucky for you, my friend, ‘cause Nars has bottled it up for you for a ~fraction of the cost~. It’s hydrating, it’s bronzing, it’s streak and orange-free – “it’s magic”, I hear you think! And you are right! I approached the bottle with mild trepidation, because I was afraid of how it would sit with my pasty autumn skin, but those fears were swiftly abated — the oil slid on like a dream, and gave me the slightest of bronzed glows.

2

Tom Ford Soleil Blanc Shimmering Body Oil

Three

The other products in your beauty cabinet are going to be jeal to the ous, ‘cause this has got to be the single most beautiful beauty product in all the lands. Our editorial assistant, Betsy, bought a bottle purely for the aesthetics, and it makes sense — she’s only human. One with appreciative eyeballs that can pick a damn fine-looking bottle from a mile away. The first time I lathered it on, I looked in the mirror, and very seriously asked myself if I was indeed JLo circa 2002. Turns out, no. But if I can almost fool myself, who hath been living in this vessel for 25 whole years, then there’s no limit to who can be fooled by the glow that I got.

3

F. Miller Body Oil

Four

The only qualm I have with this bottle lays in its petite size. What it lacks in stature, it makes up for in super duper hydrating oils, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids, which all come together to give yo’ skin new life. It’s a good one for people with oily skin who are still chasing that #glow.

4

Aerin Rose Oil

Five

“Best oil”, said everyone ever. This lightly-scented gem of an oil will hydrate, reduce redness, and encourage any dryness/acne to GTFO your face. Not only does it give you a healthy glow, it’s also primo at conditioning lacklustre locks and revitalising dry scalps. It’s worth every damn penny, and my hand is already hovering over the ‘add to basket’ button on Sephora (again).
