The Cutest Spring Makeup Trends

The idea of beauty trends is a strange one. After all, isn’t make-up about self expression, rather than fitting in with seasonal fads? Whilst our aesthetic cues used to come almost exclusively from the biannual runway shows, social media means that we now receive beauty inspiration from everywhere. Rather than a strict set of seasonal diktats, beauty trends have become an infinitely more fluid thing. The runway shows still offer exposure to amazing creativity – not to mention the cleverest ideas from the best make-up artists in the business – but are joined by trending techniques on TikTok, new formulations from our favourite beauty brands, and the looks we love most on Instagram. Trends end up being a sort of happenstance of the stuff we’re all into at the same time – the key ideas that emerge from the noise. Here are some beauty trends that are still reigning in 2025.

Is there a colour more universally flattering than peach? The summery hue has continuously appeared in a glossy wash across the eyes and in the form of blush worn high on the cheeks for a pretty flush. Less obviously “girly” than pink yet a cooler alternative to bronzer, it suits eyes, lips and cheeks alike – or even all three. Don’t just take our word for it: Peach Fuzz was named Pantone’s Colour of the Year last year, whilst WGSN picked Apricot Crush. Gorgeously glowy.

Originating in the K-beauty scene, the trend for glass skin – skin that appears poreless and clear with a glass-like sheen – has generated a lot of buzz on TikTok over recent years, and went stratospheric last year with Pat McGrath’s truly otherworldly porcelain complexions at the Margiela spring/summer 2024 couture show in Paris. The real-life translation has continued in 2025 and includes balmy highlighters, make-up/skincare hybrid products and gloss textures for a buttery glow. Take Rodial’s new Glass Highlighter or Vieve’s Nova Glow Liquid Light, both of which catch the light brilliantly.

There’s nothing we love more than a trend that makes life simpler, and beauty’s love affair with blurred lipstick does just that. From the surge in TikTok tutorials for blurred, blotted and bitten lip looks, to the popularity of products such as Byredo’s Liquid Lipstick Matte and Violette’s Bisou Balm, buildable matte stains have the effortless, French-girl insouciance we’re always in pursuit of. We are loving petal and berry hues, diffused out from the centre of the lips.

Dark eyeliner never truly goes out of style. For sping/summer though, a little restraint goes a long way – the vibe is soft, ethereal grunge rather than high drama. Liner worked right into the roots of the lashes, accompanied by clean skin and softly defined brows gives a ‘90s feel, while mixing it with a clear gloss gives a smudgy, next-day appeal, or try a matte black kohl diffused across the lower lash line for a grungy, cool-girl vibe.

Blush is well and truly back for this spring. What Goodwin really masters is the placement – applying pigment precisely where a natural flush would show up on the skin, for a youthful and healthy-looking radiance.
