New York is known as a city that delivers fresh faces and glossy manes, but this season there was a new energy showcasing fun use of colour and cool girls in abundance.
The 80s were revived with electric blue eyeshadow washed over the eyelids and lashes at Anna Sui, neon pink matte lips at Batsheva and full glam at Hatnim Lee; makeup felt fun and joyful with a sexy edge.
Wednesday has a lot to answer for as Romantic Gothic notes appeared as red eyeshadow at Collina Strada, soft brown smokey eyes at Grace Ling and the perfect deep, matte burgundy at Off White. Beauty looks felt subtly dark yet effortlessly cool.
New York didn’t go completely rogue; there was still the candy-hued glowing complexions that the Spring/Summer season is known for; with glossy, blushed cheeks at Prabal Gurung and an outdoorsey warmth to the skin at Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren.
