London is the place where everyone expects the makeup to make a statement, and boy did they deliver.
Club kids came out to play with a plethora of individualised looks at Chopova Lowena, from crystal studded brows to neon blushes, whilst Marcus Almeida and Ashish went for bold colours on the eyes customised to the models. Those cute star stickers at Ashley Williams? Of course they were Starface, the teen acne patches seen on every London street.
Where glow was present it wasn’t just a subtle sheen; it was a high shine reflective gloss seen on the eyes at Tove Studio, across the satin skin at Erdem and all over at Sinead Gorey.
A red lip is a classic and perhaps not instantly recognised as a trend, but it cropped up across multiple runways in every format. Matte and softly diffused at Erdem, letter stamped at Simone Rocha and doll-like details at Bora Aksu. The stained effect at Ashley Williams was easily wearable, whilst Richard Quinn’s sharply precise red lip screamed old school glamour.
