What does Beauty mean to you?

Beauty for me is about inner peace with yourself, and being both mentally and physically healthy. We all age no matter what, and this lifetime transformation (aging) is a great beauty.

My philosophy: less is more and discipline is a key.

On Skincare

I’ve been modeling since I was 15.  Due to the overuse of different products, by age 18 the lipid barrier on my face was completely ruined and my skin became hyper-reactive.

15+ years later I can’t use anything, (and I mean anything) as my skin turns red, except for with Avene Tolerant Extreme, which my dermatologist gave me. Thankfully my skin can also tolerate foundation, so I can work without worrying about turning into a grilled tomato otherwise my career would have been over.

This skin drama actually benefitted me as I haven’t experimented with my skin, or followed trends, and have kept my skin pretty clean.

Around age 33 I discovered Biologique Recherche and their Lotion P50w which helped me strengthen my barrier alongside ISO placenta cream. I use this at night twice a week – it still gives me redness but it does work.

In Tanya's File

‘Besides the funniest name, this gently exfoliates my skin eliminating any dry skin. I love the feeling after using it – so fresh and clean.’

‘This has such great ingredients, I love all the mushroom extracts. It’s perfect for self-massage or for using with a Guasha. I recently tried their Barrier Cream as well and it’s great too.’

‘It’s my all-time favorite moisturizer. Perfect ingredients, I’ve been using it for the past 10 years. I use it instead of a primer at work, or whenever my skin needs rest, in cold/hot weather – it’s the perfect daily moisturizer for sensitive and reactive skin.’

On Haircare

Oh it’s been quite a journey for me.  I have very fine hair, and with all the stress’s going on with my country, plus Covid before that, I lost a lot of it. I tried a whole bunch of products to help with my hair loss, but nothing particularly worked until I started using Orthamol hair intense supplements following Orthamol mental.

Today I’m using Iraltone shampoo from the pharmacy to reduce dandruff and itching and the Actyva Mask from Kemon. It’s not ideal, but as I said it’s a journey. I’m focusing more on massaging my scalp and working on head aponeurosis on a daily basis. These techniques help not only with hair loss but also with my forehead lines.

On Make-up

I don’t use make up.  The only thing I have is ILIA serum skin tint, SPF 40 shade ST6 Ora. I can use it to cover some imperfections or use it under my eyes as a concealer. That’s all. If I was going out I might do a red lip, probably from La Bouche Rouge, but that’s in theory and not always reality.

On Health and Wellness

I’ve always had a good relationship with sport. Running, training, horse riding, skiing, and now tennis. I love being active.

These days I’m trying to have 2-3 personal workouts a week plus a tennis session.

I’m also very in tune with my body I do a lot of self-massages with my little Theragun helper, I carry it everywhere with me. I always start the day with a black roll and little ball to activate my feet.

Twice a month I go to my healer, her name is Zulema. She does her magic with Californian massage, helping me to get back to my body, and work on traumas that are blocked inside. This really helps me listen to my body more consciously.

I’m using Orthamol Vital F vitamins, Moontime herbal extracts for my cycle, Clarity Mushroom tincture for my mental health and Throne Myco-Immune: those are mushroom extracts. I do believe in Mycology.

And beside all that my best healer is the sea. Whenever I feel like I can’t deal with negativity and bad energy that might stick on me during the day I go to the sea and lie like a starfish in it for 10 minutes. The combination of cranial self therapy and Sea, works magically for me.

On Rituals

I used to practice meditations but now it’s different, I’m more active when the moon is becoming more full, and I try to take it easy and cleanse more after a Full moon.

I’m definitely following a moon cycle, even my period has synced with it.

On Fragrance

After my second pregnancy I couldn’t use any perfume for quite some time. Everything would be too intense for me.

However, for the past couple of years I’ve been using Nightclubbing by Celine. Its a very gentle scent, reminding me of my festive New York life and my 20’s.
