What does Beauty mean to you?

Keeping products simple, not overdoing it, and making sure that what I eat and drink are healthy to keep my skin and body in shape.

Beauty really is subjective. There will always be someone with ‘better skin, hair, body’ so it’s important to take care of yourself the best you can.

Make time to relax, meditate, get a facial or massage, do yoga etc.

Self esteem and confidence are beautiful, so making sure you feel good and are happy with yourself is the best beauty treatment.

On Skincare

Daytime  routine is rinse with water, Dr Hauschka Toner  followed by Dr Hauschka day lotion.

Then I put a drop of Clarins Blue Orchid Facial Oil  into my  foundation to add extra moisture and massage that into my face.

Right now I’m using Biologique Recherche Sérum De Teint but I change foundations frequently.

At night I use Skinceuticals Glycolic Renewal Cleanser and follow with Dr Hauschka Toner, a drop of Skinceuticals CE Ferulic Acid and massage a CBD Balm my sister in law makes called Glow. There’s literally only 10 ingredients in it so I know it’s not full of perfume and chemicals.

I bring bottles back from California, even my friends are requesting it.

In Ramona's File

‘Just love the smell.  Also, like the toner, l’ve used so many face oils over the years and this one has a great consistency. Never gets too sticky or thick, perfect for adding to lotion or foundation.’

‘Just a perfect recipe for a cleanser and smell. It cleans enough to feel like it’s doing it’s job but doesn’t strip the hair so I don’t even feel like I need a conditioner afterwards.’

On Haircare

As a hairstylist I’m a big believer in a great haircut. I still take clients at my house as I love cutting hair.

That being said I think if you have a good cut you don’t really need a lot of products or irons etc to make your hair look good. I think investing in a good shampoo and conditioner can make a difference, as well as the water quality where you live.

Right now I’m using Televison perfect hair shampoo by R&Co. I also love Oribe Signature Shampoo. I’ve also started using bar shampoo as to get away from plastic products, and so far they work great.

Sometimes after the shower I will add a hair oil by a product called Reverie, Ever Recovery Hair Oil. Again, it has a minimal amount of ingredients and smells amazing.

On Make-up

Right now I’m using a foundation from Biologique Recherche mixed with a few drops of Clarins Blue Orchid Facial Oil.

Normally in the daytime I just use that plus a lipstick from MAC called Snob.

It automatically makes me look tanned whenever I wear it.

At night sometimes I will add a mascara by Chanel or a blue eyeliner from YSL.

I also love a red lip at night and use a pencil from NARS called Red Square.

On Health and Wellness

I’ve tried numerous amounts of vitamins over the years, but the only thing that’s stuck is taking collagen everyday, to help with my hair, skin and nails.

Otherwise,  I juice every morning, and also do yoga at home.

I used to do hot yoga for years so I just follow a combination of that plus classic ashtanga yoga positions.

I take my mat with me when I travel so I can stretch and do breathing exercises wherever I am.

I’ve started going to Barry’s boot camp when I can for more muscle building, but I’m not super consistent.

I ride my bike everywhere in Paris, and go running when I’m outside of Paris where the air is cleaner.

I also play pickleball with my husband occasionally.

On Rituals

I take baths with Epsom salts every night when I’m home. I’ve been eating a lot of kimchee with any meal I make at home. I juice every morning also when I’m home.

Do yoga and breathing exercise wherever I am.

I have an amazing masseuse/body worker named Laura Pavese who lives in Paris and I try to see every few months.

When I’m in LA I try to get to the Korean spa as often as possible. Olympic women’s spa is my fave, or WiSpa.

On Fragrance

I love Pot Pourrie by Santa Maria Novella. I first smelled it on a male client I had once and was obsessed. It’s a bit musky, not too sweet.

I also started wearing Rose by Le Labo which is actually not super sweet or smelling like Rose. It’s peppery, and not too overpowering.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Opium by YSL, but I feel like you have to be 60+ to carry that scent off, it’s a statement.

Maybe in a few years I will go there.

Your Beauty Secrets

I lather Weleda Skin Food on my hands before bed and on flights.. hands are a big giveaway for aging, It’s important to keep them moisturised.

I also have Egyptian Magic Skin Balm that I use on my lips and any other dry spots before a flight or before bed.

What is always in your handbag?
