What does Beauty mean to you?

Beauty is a subjective external quality, but it is just as much about the aura you emit. I have worked with so many very beautiful models, but I am always most blown away when there is a loving and curious person behind their beautiful features. The few times I have been jealous of other women, it has never been about their appearance, but about their energy.

On Skincare

‘I start every morning by dipping my head in a bowl of ice-cold water, which I keep in the refrigerator. Then I scrub it with a face brush from Karmameju, and I repeat this 3-4 times. It really gets the blood circulation going. I also scrub my body and hands with a NOVA salt scrub from Karmameju or brush them with a hemp glove 1-2 times a week, I use a mask. It can be the PRO: LAB – Miracle Mask, which is a chemical peel from Amazing Space, or Hydra-Essentiel from Clarins.

On Haircare

I have many curls, and unruly hair. It requires a lot of care, and I have finally found a combination that works really well for my hair. I use Olinol no. 301 shampoo from Naturfarm, which is a Danish family-owned company focused on organic products. Then I use a treatment from Kevin Murphy HYDRATE-ME.MASQUE and finish with a conditioner from Bidro, which is also made as naturally as possible. I braid my hair at night to reduce wear and try to use a straightener as little as possible. When the hair is dry, I apply a couple of drops of Aveda Nutriplenish Multi-Use Hair Oil on the ends.

On Makeup

I don’t use much makeup, but I almost always apply a bit of Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Illuminating Pen under my eyes. I use Nilens Jord to add a glow to my face and a small touch of Marianne Tromborg Blush Coral to the tops of my cheeks. On my lashes, I use Lancôme Lash Idôle Mascara Black.

On Health and Wellness

I love smoothies and make them often for breakfast. It consists of ginger and apple juice, almond milk, skyr, avocado, broccoli, spinach, bee pollen, acai powder, and a little bit of Oil of Life Female, which is an organic oil with omega 3, 6, and 9, evening primrose oil, and flaxseed oil. In addition, I take Biotin to strengthen my hair and nails. I do strength training 2-3 times a week, usually not more than 30 minutes, but then spend 10 minutes stretching to maintain the body’s flexibility.

On Rituals

For me, well-being is much more about having a balanced mind. Sometimes that can be easier said than done, but a good place to start is by showing gratitude. This can be shown to others, but it can also be directed towards your body, the unexpectedly nice weather, the available parking space, a day without headaches, children who sleep through the night, or a good colleague. I prioritize having a positive mindset and highlighting everything that is going well for me, rather than focusing on everything that isn’t working.

On Fragrance

I am super conservative when it comes to perfumes, and I have lost count of how many times I have let myself be ‘seduced’ into buying a perfume only to give it away the next day because I couldn’t stand the scent. I actually only use L’Ombre dans l’Eau from Diptyque or Thé Noir 29 from Le Labo.
