What does Beauty mean to you?

For me, beauty is more about how I feel than how I look. That philosophy ensures that I prioritise making choices that will make me feel good, which ultimately affects my exterior.

On Skincare

My skincare routine is pretty minimal now. I explored a lot in my early twenties, which I don’t regret. It taught me a lot about what my skin needs and likes. So, I would say my routines are quite simple now. I also have very sensitive skin, so if I find something that I like, I tend to stick to it.

My AM routine after the shower usually starts with Theraface LED mask, I have seen a difference after consistently using it for over a year now, and I love it. I then follow up with a brightening serum, I love the SkinCeuticals Silymarin CF vitamin C serum. I then use the Centella Madagascar Ampoule Facial serum, followed by the ISDIN eye cream, then the Caudalie brightening moisturizer and finally sunscreen.

My PM routine will consist of the LED mask on days I perhaps didn’t have time to use in the morning. I use a tretinoin every second day, and use the Emma Lewisham skin reset serum every night. I have used it for years, since the brand launched really. Then I use the ISDIN eye cream, then follow it up with a heavier moisturiser I am currently using the ANUA moisturiser, but looking for a replacement.

On Haircare

I have very curly hair and like to wear my hair straight so it can be time consuming to maintain it. I get my hair done about every 4 weeks, and in between that I use Briogeo hair products in the shower, I also love Hask hair conditioners. I then use a leave in conditioner, followed by a heat protectant, and finally the colour- wow dream coat.

On Make-up

I don’t tend to wear much make-up. I very rarely wear make-up. However when I do, I will put on concealer instead of foundation, I hate the feeling of a heavy coverage product. I do love the NARS concealer. I have used it now for almost a decade. I love the Chanel volume mascara, and I also love the cloud paints by Glossier, my two favorites and Storm and Eve which I have used for years, I use it both on my cheeks and lips. I also adore the Gucci balm, I use that as a highlighter, I’ve used it for years since Gucci launched its beauty, and last the hourglass brow gel in brown, I have thin eyebrows so I find that the brown gel keeps them looking natural.

On Health and Wellness

For me, my mental health is just as important as my physical health. I like to be active and move my body as much as I can. I have boxed for nearly 5 years now, however, I recently injured my wrist and took a step back and focused on low-impact workouts which have also been great for me.

I went to India last year and learned more about Ayurvedic practices which were incredible to learn more about, so I try to follow that as much as I can, especially, the diet, breathing exercises, and meditation.

I usually will do the breathing exercises and meditation in the morning following my shower and routine, before I get dressed and leave for the day.

Your Beauty Secrets

Find what works best for you and know what looks best for your face shape/ skin type, hair type, etc. Also how you feel on the inside will always reflect how you look on the outside.

On Fragrance

I am a creature of habit and tend to use the same fragrances for years. I love the Eccentric Molecule 01, and Aesop’s  Eidesis, Eremia, and Rozu. I’m definitely drawn to more masculine and woody scents. I don’t change my fragrances often, I quite like it when people have a signature scent.
