What does Beauty mean to you?

I don’t want this to sound cliché, but I really align with the idea that there is something so powerful about your confidence, your balance, being aligned with yourself and your values. When you reflect that, it enhances anything that is palpable. I never feeel more vibrant than when I am at peace inside – your routine is the cherry on the cake.

On Skincare

I used to love trying new products and new formulas until I really took the time to  observe my skin.

Today I use mostly two brands, Augustinus Bader and Mantle Skin.

I gently wash my face with the gel cleanser from Augustinus Bader. I like it because I feel like it deeply cleans while keeping the moisture in the skin. Then I apply the Face Jelly from Mantle skin. followed by the Rich Cream by AB

I finish with face glow by Mantle Skin. It adds an additional dewy look that I like while not overwhelming the skin with too much moisture.

I pretty much do the same routine at night, but I add this BHA exfoliator three times a week – it gives the glass skin that I want to achieve and it’s a deep cleanse for my skin that is less aggressive than a regular exfoliator.

On Makeup

My must-haves are brow pencils because a good brow line can change the entire face. My favorite brow pencils are Charlotte Tillbury and Glossier.

Then I use Mascara by ILIA, and I use the contour stick by Merit as a blush.

On Haircare

What I use on my hair depends on what I do with it. When I leave my hair out curly, I’ll wash with the Madame La Présidente shampoo that smells divine, then I put a primer cream under the shower from Secrets de Loly and then I’ll put the curl cream by Bouclème. As a finisher I put a curl mousse to hold my curls and keep the shine.

On Health and Wellness

First of all, drinking water first thing when I open my eyes and last thing before I close them changed a lot for me. On top of replumping your skin, it’s something I used to forget to do when I was younger and would have severe headaches.

I also really try to keep a good sleep rhythm, exercise and mostly, being aware of the food I put into my body.

On Fragrance

My relationship with fragrance is pretty deep. I think the way you dress, the way you smell, says a lot about you. It’s how people recognise you, describe you, and partially remember you. So scent to me is part of your identity.

The one that became part of my identity today is Tubéreuse Astrale by Maison Crivelli. It smells incredibly good but also has such a unique statement smell, it’s enchanting.

I grew up with a mom that would wear a solid amount of perfume with Oud, from her hair to her scarf and the clothes she wore. I always associated that to confidence. She fiercely walks in a room and we know she is close just by her scent.

So today, I’m perpetuating the tradition by wearing a fragrance that screams so much MELISSA that there is no doubt I’m around.
