What does Beauty mean to you?

To know what makes you beautiful and always believe it.

On Skincare

I wash my skin with a Cerave cleanser at night and apply Hexomedine to any upcoming pimples. In the morning I use Biafine (it has antibiotics and really helps with scarring). I massage it into my face with a stone I found on a beach in Sardinia.

On Haircare

I use agave oil and put a lot of it in my hair the night before I do a hair wash, which I do approx twice a week. After I shampoo and condition my hair, I use a teaspoon of the Agave oil in my ends and let it dry in a braid.

On Make-up

I use a red lipstick (Chanel makes really good ones) on my lips and a bit on my cheeks, and I love liquid glitter eyeliner. Obsessed with it. Wear it all the time.

On Health and Wellness

I meditate a few times a week to feel more grounded. I should exercise more but I don’t. I walk a lot but I am lacking in the physical activity part of my life. I think for me, the idea of wellness is a fickle fiend, I end up obsessing over being “well” when in reality there are just so many more elements to life that need to be constantly addressed first. For me, it’s mostly my anxiety levels and making sure I don’t succumb to my destructive coping mechanisms.

On Rituals

I write a lot which has been a really helpful tool in expressing the way I feel. It’s difficult when you wake up in the morning and you just want to self-destruct. I practice the piano which is also really important to me because it forces me to focus on one thing. I go to therapy. But honestly, I’m still getting the hang of taking care of myself.

On Fragrance

I don’t really like fragrances as I don’t think they suit me. I prefer for my skin and hair to smell really good, naturally, but I like using the Diptyque solid perfumes because those really integrate into your skin.

Your Beauty Secrets..

I use these blue eye drops that you buy in the pharmacy and they totally clear up your eyes and make them pop. And if I have puffy eyes sometimes it settles them a little. I think it works wonders. Other than that I’m obsessed with the temperature in my room when I go to sleep. It has to be cold so I don’t sweat at night. I hate that, it fucks up my skin like nothing else. If the temperature is cold, I’ll sleep with pajamas, socks and a sweater over my bed sheets.

What is always in your handbag?

Nuxe lip balm, glossier “crush” lipstick (because it doesn’t look like I’m wearing lipstick but plumps my lips), and glitter eyeliner.

Lola’s Directory

Facetune in Paris is great and reasonably priced. Maison d’artois in paris is the best wax of my life. I go to Nadia.

In Amsterdam I’d say Claus Holtz beauty – their facials are cray and life changing.
