What does Beauty mean to you?

When it comes down to it, I believe beauty is about feeling your best so if that means getting an expensive facial or taking a 2 hour nap, I say go for it.

On Skincare

When I was in my 20’s, if I got around to washing my face at night it was with whatever hand soap was by the sink. No moisturiser, no serums, no masks, no facials, just hand soap and that actually seemed to work pretty well. Now in my mid 30’s, the hand soap doesn’t quite cut it.

I’ve graduated to a 4 step night routine. I start by washing my face with Biologique Recherche Lait Dermo-S, then I use serum by Rejuvi which an aesthetician suggested for my redness, I’m on the hunt for the perfect moisturiser but for now, I’ve been trying out the Mochi Mochi Luminous Plumping Moisturiser by DamDam and then I almost always end on Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Oil which I keep returning to after testing out several other oils. The climate is incredibly dry in California so constant hydration has been my savior.

Other than that, I use Elta MD UV Daily Sunscreen every day, and I love a sheet mask when my skin feels like it needs extra attention.

In Eve's File

‘I love how lightweight the Jones Road miracle balm is. It’s very moisturizing from the jojoba oil. When I’m running out the door, I’ll dab a bit on my cheeks and lips for a lovely natural glow.’

‘The Kosas Revealer concealer is very creamy and blendable. It doesn’t leave any residue on top of the skin and I like that it has a clean beauty focus.’

‘I never met a hair dryer that didn’t frizz out my hair until I met the Dyson. It’s more money than you ever want to spend on a hair dryer but it truly lives up to the hype.’

On Haircare

You cannot beat the weather in Los Angeles however the water here leaves my hair sad and depleted. I’ve tried several different shampoos and have found Roz to work the best, keeps my hair looking healthy and shiny. I also like the K-18 hair mask.

In terms of hair tools, I never met a hair dryer that didn’t frizz out my hair until I met the Dyson. It’s more money than you ever want to spend on a hair dryer but it truly lives up to the hype. A simple beard brush has also been a helpful tool to tame my hair down or slick it back in a pony.

On Make-up

I like more of a no-makeup makeup look on myself so I keep things pretty simple. I have a 5-minute everyday makeup routine— I use a tinted moisturizer by Tarte, Kosas tinted brow gel, Kosas concealer, Jones Road cream blush and TOK beauty mascara. When I’m in New York City, I almost always stop in Detox Market where they focus on clean products and stock up on my staples and then try something new. Last time, I tried the 19/99 Beauty Precision Colour Pencil in neutra and their Cream Highlighter Stick in miele which I will use when I’m going out.

On Health and Wellness

Health involves a lot of patience and grace. There is an overwhelming amount of  information out there, I am constantly being sold this diet and that wellness trend on social media. I like to work with a naturopath, mostly because I don’t think gut and hormonal health is prioritized enough in Western medicine but also because she is an expert in her field and someone I can trust. You are your own best advocate so it’s always important to do your own research as well but it gives me some peace of mind to work with someone that is studying medical research papers and has data behind their work.

I love a sauna— that is something I have incorporated more of in the last few years. It is a great facilitator of detoxing and hormonal health. I drink green tea everyday which is good for metabolizing estrogen. I also love OM Master Blend Organic Mushroom Powder for immune support and stress, I’ll put that in smoothies. Before bed I also like to take magnesium glycinate which supports restorative sleep.

On Rituals

As I mentioned, I am a big fan of saunas. Nothing better than a Korean spa in LA or I’ll book sauna pod session at Sauna Lab. Getting a facial once every few months feels like a really nice treat that I do for myself. I also love a lymphatic massage.

On Fragrance

Right now I go between two— Monstera by Xinu Perfumes which I bought at their stunning store in Mexico City and Eau Triple by Officine Universelle Buly which my best friend gifted me the week of my wedding. Every time I wear them, they bring back a lot of happy memories.

Your Beauty Secrets...

I absolutely love the Biodance Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask for a long flight. I found it on TikTok and tried it on my flight to Japan. It was a game changer.

What's always in your handbag?

Lineage lip mask which I use more as a balm.

Eve's Directory...

The Signature treatment at Ricari studios in the Nomad is incredible. I did it before my wedding and would highly suggest it, especially before a big event.

I did a 2 hour head spa treatment at Kokyu Kyoto in Kyoto and it was mind blowing, a truly rejuvenating experience.

I love Naomi at Spoke and Wheel in Los Angeles, a very talented colorist and stylist.

Olympic Spa in Los Angeles is my favorite Korean Spa, the body scrub is a must.

Alex at Stark Waxing Studio in Los Angeles
