What does Beauty mean to you?

As a photographer beauty means a lot. But funny enough sometimes I want it to mean nothing. By seeking beauty in my everyday life, finding what can be beautiful for me on a specific time in a certain situation, is very magical and can contain a lot of vulnerability as well.

On Skincare

Actually my skincare routine changes every time a product I use is empty. Then I change the cream or whatever. In the winter time I do always go back to “Skin Food Rich” from Weleda. I like the glow and it hydrates for some hours.

In the morning I wash my face with cold water, then put on my Balm Balm “Little Miracle Rosehip Serum” which I get from “I Love Beauty” that Vogue mentioned as ‘the world’s smallest beauty shop’. They have the a very good collection of high quality products and Gua Sha’s!

Then for a moisturizer I’m either using my “Daily Hydra Cream” from Woods_ Copenhagen. An all natural brand out of Copenhagen. I’m using a lot of Woods_ Copenhagen products, especially their face masks. One for hydra and one for deep cleanse. Or my “Face Creme Acid Mantle Moisture Repair” from Jao Brand. I’m obsessed with the smell. Then a Clear Eye Brow Gel from Kenny Brows and a layer of my Homeoplasmine Lip Balm that I always bring with me home from the Parisian Pharmacies. And that’s actually it.

For evening time I cleanse in hot water with either my “Fabulous Face Cleanser” from Aesop or a “Cleansing Oil” from Whamisa. I always buy my Whamisa products in the finest little store in my neighborhood called “My Favourite Things”. They also carry other smaller brands like Jao Brand, Lulu Organics and Routine, which I like to support and they are all natural products. I often ask for help to find products that are good for my skin type. After cleansing I use a “Rosehip Seed and Fruit Facial Oil” from Pai. It leaves a glow that I believe will stay until the sun rises again, lol. Another oil I like to use in the evening is my Rowse “Organic Hemp Oil”. Hemp oil is good for calming irritation and redness in the skin. If I’m feeling it I’ll be using a little Gua Sha, also from I Love Beauty.

On Haircare

I aim for my shampoo to leave the hair moisturized and shiny. I dont have a go to but I often find nice ones in the “organic supermarkets.”

The only hair product I use is “Limesoufflé” from Less is More, that I buy through studiocimmahony.com.

Other than that I get my hair cut every 6-10 months by my dear friend Gitte Guldhammer. She’s a makeup artist and I give her all my trust when she’s cutting my hair. I’m so happy every single time that I somehow wish for my hair to grow out so she can cut it again soon!! I’m thinking my next haircut shall be a bleached awkward shoulder length look.

On Make-up

I have never used makeup and don’t know anything about it actually. I admire looking and listening to people knowing about it, but have never used it for myself. I’m so bored of the “natural beauty look” saying but yes thats me lol. I’m using a Clear Eye Brow Gel from Kenny Brows and a Gucci or Glossier Mascara every leap year… But I’m very much into lipstick, and have a quite big collection of Hermes lipsticks. They are all amazing and I love to wear them on a not so festive evening just as much as on a very festive occasion.

On Health and Wellness

For vitamins I’m taking “Spektro Multi-Vita-Min” and B12-vitamin both from Solaray. I’m also a fan of Nurture Vitaviva by @amaliert I’m taking the “Be Nourished” which contains omega3.

On Rituals

I love to swim which I do in the ocean in the summertime, and in the public swimming pool in the late evening after work where there is no people around, in the wintertime.

On Fragrance

For smell I’m using an essential oil “perfume” from Amazing Space called “Sun Set” I roll it on my wrists, the smell is outrageous!

For my hands I’m using a “Hand Refreshing Spray” from Less is More. It smells terrific and has among other lavender, atlas cedar, and patchouli in it.

Your Beauty Secrets..

Sleeping with a sleep mask. I like “The Beauty Sleeper” silk sleep masks. They are so soft to sleep with!! And I like the ritual of finding the mask on my bedside table every night.

What is always in your handbag?

A tiny Le Labo perfume, my “Sun Set” essential oil/perfume, an Egyptian magic lip balm or obviously my Homeoplasmine lip balm.. and a Hermes lipsticks 🙂

Betty’s Directory

My favorite place to go is at Sahar’s, for a holistic facial therapy. She’s called @sahars.dk on Instagram, and I go there maybe only once a year, but I leave from hers and feel SO great, no words can describe.
