What does Beauty mean to you?

Less is more. Seeing bare skin and the life that you’ve lived is the most sexy to me.

On Skincare

I struggled with my skin growing up, even into my early twenties until I realised that my skin needed less, not more. I really look up to Danna Omari’s ethos around looking at skin holistically, balancing natural products with active ones, and aging naturally. I’m addicted to Living Libations Best Skin Ever Seabuckthorn and use it religiously morning and night as an oil cleanser and moisturiser. If I could only choose one product for the rest of my life, that would be it; I had never used an oil cleanser before this, and using it completely changed my skin. I love the ritual and the smell, and my skin has never been more hydrated, balanced and clear since using it. Some mornings I also love to Gua Sha and follow up with more Seabuckthorn and Living Libations Ozonated Dew Dab which is great for hyperpigmentation and brightening. I also love to feel fancy and brush my eyebrows with my monogrammed toothbrush from Buly. A few nights a week, I’ll use Cosmedix Eye Doctor which brightens the skin under the eye and reduces fine lines. I was recently given the Essential Moisturiser from Lesse which I’ll sometimes incorporate also at night as it’s super rich and hydrating and especially great in winter. I love to slather my body with Everyday Oil after a hot shower and don’t go anywhere without EMUgency chapstick.

On Haircare

I’m super lazy when it comes to my hair, I only started using conditioner maybe a couple of years ago. Once I finally embraced my curls in my twenties, I love to be super low maintenance with what I do to it. At the moment I use Le Labo shampoo and conditioner. It’s maybe not the most natural in it’s ingredients but I’m pretty addicted to the smell. Once a week I’ll use Aesop’s Rose Hair masque and follow with Davines Nourishing Oil or Everyday oil on the ends. When it’s wet, I’ll comb out the tangles and let it air dry. My recent obsession is giving my hair a brush when it’s dry. There’s something about the ritual and the soft fluffy texture of the curls after that I love. I use a wooden Japanese brush by Y.S. Park and it could perhaps be one of the most beautiful things I own.

On Make-up

I rarely wear makeup and when I do it’s RMS UnCoverup Concealer to naturally cover hyperpigmentation or spots. Brushed brows, hydrated bare skin – that’s the sexiest to me.

On Health and Wellness

Skin is the largest organ in our body and is an expression of what is happening on our insides so what you put inside your body is as important as what you put on it. At the end of the day, my skin is the best when I’m happy, eating well, getting enough rest, getting sun, exercising, swimming in salty ocean water. I like running, doing pilates, taking space in the morning to have some quiet time before my boyfriend wakes up.

On Rituals

Pilates, running, gua sha, and facial reflexology.

On Fragrance

Currently I love to wear a mix of Tobacco by Santa Maria Novella and a perfume made for SC103. It’s the perfect mix of warm, earthy and woody scents.

Your Beauty Secrets..

Look after your teeth and mouth health – all of this is also linked to skin expression. Following Dana Omari’s lead, I’ve become religious about incorporating products from Living Libations to support gum and tooth health – Swishing oil, Ozonated happy gum gel, and Happy Gum drops. Not only does my mouth feel cleaner and healthier, but my skin also looks clearer.
