What does Beauty mean to you?

Beauty means simplicity, subtlety and … I was trying to think of another word. But these two are spot on.

When we were in lockdown I was so absorbed in beauty routines and how people did it as I was a soap and water person for a veryyyyy long time. And so I switched it up and started to do a routine but my skin just didn’t like it. My skin generally does not react well when I do too much.

On Skincare

My morning routine is fairly simple, I cleanse using Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser by Corsrx,  ANUA Heartleaf toner, Beauty of Josean Glow Serum, and moisturise with COSRX – Advanced Snail 92 All In One Cream. I finish with La Roche Posay 50+ spf. I am a sucker for Korean Beauty products and videos, so I have tried a few different things and found this routine the most moisturising, gentle and light.

I was gifted a set from Emma Lewisham and I have to say I am in love with Supernatural Vitale Face Elixer and Skin Reset Serum. I feel the difference, it’s super gentle, very moisturising and plumping.

My evening routine is almost the same as my morning. I take off my makeup with Loreal Fine Flowers Milk which lasts forever, cleanse using the same cleanser, then I use Organic jojoba oil, Gua sha facial routine, then I apply the same toner and moisturiser.

Some nights I use Skin and Lab Gently Vita exfoliator if my skin texture doesn’t feel so smooth, I love this product. It’s the most gentle exfoliator and it sounds gross, but it’s satisfying when you can see your dead skin come away.

On other nights I will use Cosrx AHA 7 whitehead power liquid and my skin texture feels so great after. I do not use this often.

As I have become older and more stressed I am more aware of the dark circles under my eyes. I use Mizon snail repair eye cream but to be honest I can’t see any difference.

On Haircare

My hair routine… I’m honestly still trying to work out. I had my hair permed to be slightly wavy years ago and ever since then my scalp has had dandruff and dryness. Worst decision ever! It was also too high maintenance and I like an easy no faff morning. My hair has been short for years now, back in Central Saint Martins day, I had the longest hair ever but could never go back.

On Make-up

I’m not that great with makeup, I wish I was. I have had pretty much the same black-winged eyeliner since I was a teenager and have done this consistently to this day in my 30’s, sad but true. This eye makeup look has gone through many stages of my life, and maybe the goal for 33 is to try eyeshadow. I don’t like wearing mascara because my eyelashes go downwards and I am lazy to curl them. I do however wear an Hourglass blush that I love, and that’s pretty much it.

On Health and Wellness

I have been off the health and wellness track for a while as my business takes up so much of my time and energy. Sad I know. I used to practice Ashtanga yoga, an intense vinyasa practice, but I needed to slow down…not do more. I now dabble in yoga and try my best to add Vedic meditation back in my life again. I have started to run…ish. Haha!

I have introduced Gua sha into my wellness routine, I find it so relaxing and its my self-care moment at night. At the moment health and wellness have taken a back seat and I need to incorporate them more in my life or I will go crazy!

On Fragrance

The Noir Lelabo which I just finished and love. Basilico & Fellini by Vilhelm Parfumerie is a brand that I have never bought before, but love so far.

What do you always have in your handbag?

Oyedo by Diptique perfume, QMS Hand Cream, and Vaseline are currently in my bag.
