To me, beauty means being natural and authentic. That beauty comes from the inside is a worn cliché, but your inside shows and taking care of mind and body is a big part of beauty for me.
What does beauty mean to you?
On Skincare
AM – I start my day with a shower and end with cold water to wake up and center. Even if it has been a night with lots of wake-ups, this resets me. I become present, and my day sets off in the cold water. Then, I dry brush my whole body with my karmameju brush. That has been a ritual since my teens. After brushing my teeth. I do my pulling oil while applying body oil. Then I scrape my tongue with my Surya tongue scraper. I apply my Serum Beauty Drop 3 from future 5 and Surya Day creme. I love the scent and always look forward to this step.
PM – I wash my face in cold water with the Lait Dermo S cleanser from Biologique recherche. Then I use serum Beauty drops 3, and the Lemuria Phytomarine Cream. I apply Ritanol 2-3 times a week. If I bring my computer to bed, I make sure to use my blue light glasses, and I turn on my Nutrilight Red light therapy lamp every night before sleep.
In Their File
“Saie is so light, gives the best glow and contains zinc- oxide I love that.”
“This mask is soothing and hydrating – especially when it has been in the fridge before applying.”
” These Activist Elixir immune drops are my everyday immune boost.”
“I take this magnesium every night and more if needed.”
“Just a must for me.”
On Makeup
I do a simple make-up routine with SAIE beauty products. I love a lip balm, especially Biologique recherche Biokiss and use it on my cheeks, eyelids and lips. I always have a lip balm near me – it often comes in handy.
On Haircare
Lots of moisture, I love Hinu. A good tip my hairdresser gave me was to make a bottle of water with a bit of conditioner, I use it every day for anti-frizz and moisture. Works wonders.
On Health and Wellness
Before I eat anything, I drink a big glass of water with the juice of half a lemon. Twice a week, I do my morning workout online with Range – Kara Duval Pilates.
When time is short, I find it important to go back to my basics and find the self-care routines that fulfill me the most. I am preaching a lot about breath work because it has changed my life. To breathe deeply into my body and get this connection of being one with my body and mind helps me center and live in the moment.
Introducing my kids and husband to “Mami Time”, which is time for me that the whole family respects. This is my biggest self-care achievement so far.
I love pilates, and I have done it consistently for over 8 years. I am hypermobile so pilates is my type of workout. To stand tall and be strong in my own body has become more and more important to me, especially after pregnancies, sleep deprivation, work, travel, play, and kids. Standing strong is my goal.
I typically switch up my supplements as a new season approaches. If I feel that I am in need of a supplement I take it for 6-8 weeks. I like to support my cycle by adding different herbs, oils and minerals to support whichever phase I am in. I make sure to take lots of magnesium and omegas in my menstrual phase, B6 in my ovulatory phase, and calcium in my lutaral phase. I take all my seasonal supplements after dinner and Magnesium 30 minutes before bed every night.
The best investment I have made this past year was to get a gut analysis and a hormone health analysis. That gave me a really good insight into what I need and don’t need regarding supplements and dietary restrictions
Currently, in early spring, I take probiotics, adaptogens, Reshi and Chaga drops, and a teaspoon full of Activist Manuka honey +850 every day. I give my kids this honey too.
I drink coconut matcha every day, and bone broth and hearty stews are my favorite dishes all year round.
I use mouth tape for nasal breathing, which has been a game-changer for sleep.
On Fragrance
A waiter at a restaurant once noticed the smell of Paolo Santo Rooted Oil from Noto that I was wearing. It’s a weird thing to be impressed about, but I was. I love it because it is so soft and woody. I apply it to the arms and neck.
On a Beauty tip
Lemon water every morning gets my gut going, clears my skin, and hydrates me.
