What does beauty mean to you?

For me beauty is a personal and subjective realm, and undeniably a paradoxical universe where one can express themselves in. My personal beauty philosophy is less is more, while at the same time I have moments where I do the complete opposite, especially in terms of nail art. For my skincare and makeup I am a big advocate for clean and science driven products.

On Skincare

Last year, I experienced a severe skin outbreak for the first time in my life, and it persisted for four months, coinciding with one of the most crucial professional periods in my life. This period was  a true eyeopener for me. After undergoing numerous tests, consulting various dermatologists, monitoring my nutrition, stress levels, and sleep patterns, my skin gradually began to clear up. Fortunately, it didn’t leave any scars, which had been my primary concern.

This experience got me to reevaluate all the skincare products I was using, leading me to a thorough brand research. My current daily routine starts with two glasses of water in the morning, followed by my long-standing ritual of lemon water, which I have faithfully consumed for over a decade. Then I workout, followed by dry brushing my entire body before showering.

For showing I favor brands like Act+Acre and Corpus or Orris. After showering, I apply a C+E Serum, followed by B3 and Barrier Restore Serum by Marie Veronique. Along with the serums I also do daily face massages, and also use ice roller in the morning. I complete my skincare routine with Suntegrity Impeccable Skin SPF30, which is tinted and provides sufficient coverage, eliminating the need for additional facial covering. I usually add mascara, blush, and lip balm or color, mostly by Ilia, Westman Atelier, and Kosas.

For body care, I have been using Osea body oil or anti-aging body balm. I am a big fan of Corpus deodorants, and I have various different ones by them. At night I wash my face thoroughly and apply Marie Veronique gentle Retinol four times a week, three times a week I use Multi-Retinol Night Emulsion. I am also a fan of using face scrubs and masks once or twice a week. Recently, I have incorporated Lesse face scrub into my routine, which is gentle and suits my skin type. I have discovered the incredible benefits of Korean face masks, thanks to a friend who generously stocked me up.

On Haircare

I mostly use Act+Acre products, and sometime also Rahua. My haircare is pretty simple as most days I storm out of my house with my hair still wet. That department is definitely where I need to put more attention to.

Favourite make up products

My make-up routine is very simple. Suntegrity Impeccable Skin SPF 30 in Buff is my number 1 go to, then Westman Atelier Bonne Eyebrow pencil in clay and mascara, I often use my lip balm as my blush. Currently I use hyaluronic lip palm Pulse by Kosas.

On Health and Wellness

I workout a lot, I feel like I need it for my mental and physical well-being, it truly helps me to keep it all together. Over the years I have become strict with my workout schedule and sticking to it. I do weight training twice, a spinning class in the middle of the week, and the rest of the time reformer pilates. Meditation has been my regular companion as well over the recent years and I truly enjoy it. Currently the only supplement I take is magnesium and Seed probiotics, I have a cabinet full of other supplements which are sadly just staying there.

Rituals

1. Water with lemon in the water.

2. Dry brushing my body daily.

3. Face massage and ice balls.

4. 5 times a week workout from weight training, spinning class, reformer pilates, and here and there a Bootcamp class.

5. I also love regular massages.

On Fragrance

I am all about scents. Apparently I have a scent that has been the same over the years, even though I have changed brands. My go to in Mexico is Xinu, mostly Copala. Currently I use Maison Marc-Antoine Barrois, a perfume that smells of fresh jungle on the side of a volcano.
