Now that we’ve exceeded our Aperol Spritz quota, finally digested our insane Christmas spread, and jumped headfirst into the new year, it’s time to set our sights on some #goals for 2017.

We’ve already started bettering ourselves by way of knocking together some essential beauty resolutions, and in the spirit of continuing on the path to becoming our best selves (and helping you become your best self), we decided to hit up our favourite people to see what their aspirations for the year are.

A running theme this year was living that healthy life. And since 2016 was, on the whole, a bit of a trash fire year, it makes perf sense to be on the lookout for number one. Get inspired below.

1) What’s your main resolution for 2017, and how are you going about setting it in motion?
It’s such a cliché, but I want to simplify and commit to a health regimen. I’ve invested in kettle bells, which is my new workout of choice, and I actually plan to use them. I’m going to be dedicated to actually taking all the supplements I know I need (like PS for cortisol management, L-theanine for sleep etc.) instead of buying them and using them as decoration. And I’m going hardcore slow carb. And non-body related, I’m not going to pick up my phone for anything other than photos and phone calls when I’m with my kids. (I feel my husband laughing at this one already.)

2) What compelled you to make that resolution?
Life is so chaotic these days, I need my body working optimally. Also I drank way too much wine and spritzes over the break.

3) Have you had successful resolutions in the past, and if so, why do you think they worked over others?
I’ve never really been one for resolutions…

4) What is your biggest beauty resolution for this year?I’m going to sort my eyebrows out. It’s just so much of a commitment… But better than a facelift for keeping you looking young.

5) What are you most excited about this year?
My outdoor area renovation finally being finished. But I’m a working woman with three kids – I don’t look forward, I just get through one day at a time.

1) What’s your main resolution for 2017, and how are you going about setting it in motion?
To spend at least 1 hour daily doing something that benefits my mind and body  whether it is meditation, yoga, stand-up-paddling or massage. A week into 2017, I am getting close to half hour, it will take some discipline.

2) What compelled you to make that resolution?
Since having Evie, I haven’t had as much time to devote to myself and there are only so many hours in the day. For me 2017 is a pivotal year both personally and professionally so it is really important that I take timeout to reflect and look after myself more.

3) Have you had successful resolutions in the past, and if so, why do you think they worked over others?
New Year’s resolutions have never really been of focus; I tend to make changes as I recognise them throughout the year, but this year is different — I feel that highlighting the New Year is the only way I can make this conscious change.

4) What is your biggest beauty resolution for this year?
You would think that since my mum owns a clinic, that I would have treatments often, but unfortunately it hasn’t worked out that way. This year will be different. I’m committed… I love treatments that make noticeable improvements to the texture and quality of my  skin — green peel, dermopen skin needling and LED light treatments are my favourite.

5) What are you most excited about this year?
My Chameleon is evolving in a big way — we recently moved into a beautiful new space and in the first quarter of this year we launch a new dynamic website. Our house, which has been in development over the past 2 years, is scheduled for completion in March.  I never anticipated it to be such a stressful process but it has been so exciting being involved in the design and interiors aspects.

1) What’s your main resolution for 2017, and how are you going about setting it in motion?
It’s really boring and very 30 something to say this but: my garden. We bought a house last year and it’s got the best backyard and I’ve said I’m going to do a kick ass herb/veggie patch. So far I’ve bought the topsoil…

Oh, and the Pilates. I’m obsessed with Fluid Form and it was so important last year in recovering from having a baby. So this year I want to challenge myself to the tricky stuff!

2) What compelled you to make that resolution?
Moving to Marrickville and being inspired by the local fresh produce. No excuses. Surely I can grow parsley?

3) Have you had successful resolutions in the past, and if so, why do you think they worked over others?
Never made them! I set goals for myself and my business, of course, but I don’t think I’ve ever made a resolution. I don’t do detoxes but I try to be healthy and balanced as much as I can always and this year is no different.

4) What is your biggest beauty resolution for this year?
Crybaby works with some really incredible beauty brands which means I get to try a lot of new things. We’re working with Modelco and I’m now addicted to their Instant Brows. it gives you natural colour to fill in those patchy bits and then a grooming brush to give them shape. I do it almost everyday which is totally unheard of for me!

5) What are you most excited about this year?
Having conversations with my son, working with exciting and innovative people and brands, and getting better and better at Pilates.

Anna Feller

1) What’s your main resolution for 2017, and how are you going about setting it in motion?
I am not usually one to set resolutions, yet I am definitely into setting intentions. 2017 for me is really all about being here now — being overly productive, being in nature more often, living more one-day-at-a-time, getting a facial a week and getting more rest.

2) What compelled you to make that resolution?
To live more day-to-day. And to really soak up everything about where I live and the community around me and to be more present with myself.

3) Have you had successful resolutions in the past, and if so, why do you think they worked over others?
I definitely believe when you set intentions and feel strongly about change or goals, we can achieve whatever we wish for.

4) What is your biggest beauty resolution for this year?
Weekly facials and more natural beauty-at-home concoctions. Example: Vitamin C serums, avocado hair masks, strawberry and baking soda teeth whitening, coconut oil pulling.

5) What are you most excited about this year?Watching my firstborn baby Banjo experience his first cycle of Montessori school, which will allow me to focus on growing my second baby Wilder by Anna Feller to its full potential! Bring it on!

1) What’s your main resolution for 2017, and how are you going about setting it in motion?
My New Year’s Resolution is to see the best in people. I’m lucky to be surrounded by some seriously great people in my life, so the resolution hasn’t really been put through its paces yet…

2) What compelled you to make that resolution?
I believe everyone is trying to be the best person they can be and I would like to focus more on that. More positive energy for the universe.

3) Have you had successful resolutions in the past, and if so, why do you think they worked over others?
I rarely set resolutions. When I have, my resolutions have been quite specific and self-serving (exercise more, eat well — the usual suspects). From memory, they’ve lasted a month or two… I’m a sucker for indulgent eating, and I’m a sloth at heart, so its easy to see why those intentions came undone. I think the difference with this year’s resolution is that it is less about me, and more about others which carries a sense of responsibility which I enjoy. I believe that a meaningful resolution that resonates with you as a person is a powerful one destined for success in 2017 and beyond.

4) What is your biggest beauty resolution for this year?
To go to bed with a fresh face every night.

5) What are you most excited about this year?
New experiences and family adventures! And, hopefully lovely skin if i stick to question 4!

1) What’s your main resolution for 2017, and how are you going about setting it in motion?Listening to my body and putting my health above all else. Last year really showed me how connected the mind and body are, and that unless both are well balanced you can just forget about accomplishing all the other things you set out to do. Starting off each day by checking in with myself – mindfully assessing how I feel and what I may be able to do that day to adjust anything that feels off – is the first step.

2) What compelled you to make that resolution?
I’ve been dealing with the not-so-fun aftermath of glandular fever for years, but every time I am feeling better I start pushing myself again and end up running myself down. It’s a foolish trap that starts to feel like Groundhog Day, so this year I am saying that enough is enough, I will break the cycle. I have finally learned that pushing yourself beyond what you are capable of will get you no where in the long run. Everyone is so different and I see now that treating yourself as an individual and listening to what you need specifically is much better for your health than trying to keep up with everyone else around you.

3) Have you had successful resolutions in the past, and if so, why do you think they worked over others?
I’ve never really made resolutions in the past. Things just happened to start falling into place with my health at the end of 2016 that it seemed only fitting to start new habits in the new year – I’m hoping first time’s a charm!

4) What is your biggest beauty resolution for this year?
To be happy with the hair I was born with and to stop trying to fight it! Another thing that has taken me forever to learn is that I most likely will never wake up with a head full of thick, voluminous hair. It’s fine and flat and on the oily side, but that’s okay. I’m going to keep it clean and healthy and just let it do it’s own thing.

5) What are you most excited about this year?
Par Femme <3. We launched in November last year so everything is still very new and exciting. We have big plans for where we want to take it this year and I can’t wait to see that through.
