If you haven’t trawled the streets of Paddington, Sydney recently, you may have missed the très exciting opening of EAST43. The new women’s fashion boutique weaves together fashion, beauty, design, and art (AKA four of our favourite things). If this is the case for you, we highly advise you take a peep, and watch as your #luxe dreams spring to life.

Because nothing makes us tingle with anticipation more than a brand spankin’ new concept store, we decided to celebrate by way of hitting up former fashion editor and buyer for EAST43, Ilkin Kurt, to find out what beauty prods line her cabinet. As you’d expect from someone who oft jets across the world (picking up awesome clothes on her way), her curation of products is truly a thing of beauty.

Alas, we haven’t been inspired to do a deep cleanse of our cabinets, instead eschewing the clutter in favour of a carefully-curated hoard of products. Thanks, Ilkin! Below are the products you’ll no doubt be buying come your next pay check.

Peter Thomas Roth Face Masks

“These four masks – the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask, Irish Moor Mud mask, Cucumber Gel Mask, and Rose Stem Cell mask – by Peter Thomas Roth are my faves. I buy them in small sizes, as I travel quite often, and they fit in my carry-on easily. Irish Moor and Pumpkin Enzyme are magical! They’re both powerful and highly effective treatments.”

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré

Embryolisse is my new ‘no fuss’ moisturizer. You only need a very small amount as it spreads very well and has a quite thick consistency, but isn’t oily. Apparently it works great under make up, using it as a primer. Most of my make-up artist friends use it for fashion shoots.”

Nars Orgasm Illuminator And Kiehl's Actively Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream

“I barely wear make-up. This duo works on my skin perfectly. I don’t like the feeling of a foundation (I’ve never owned one), but also need to balance my skin tone. The Kiehl’s BB cream has vitamin C, and super high UV and sun protection. It’s light and easy to apply. The Nars illuminator has an orgasmic effect, as its name suggests. It brightens up my face with a natural glow. I like to mix them together – they create an amazing, fresh look.”

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Solution Micellaire Cleanser

Bioderma is my ultimate favourite. As you see, I have it in every size! It is light, very effective, and super affordable. Cheap and cheerful!”

4

Binchotan Facial Puff

“Another great Japanese find! This Facial Puff by Binchotan is crafted from a blend of natural konjac root fibres and fine Binchotan Charcoal powder. It gently massages and exfoliates the skin. I generally repurchase it every three months from The Line in New York City.”

Oils (All Of Them!)

“I’m often asked how I keep my skin soft and smooth. Well, I’m Turkish, so I love a good Turkish bath! I keep exfoliating gloves in the shower – regular base exfoliating is quite important. Also, you should find the right oil for your skin type. Finishing a shower with oils always yields the best results. While still in the shower, rub a good oil all over your body. I use different oils for different body parts. Pratima Love Oil is my new favourite, as it hydrates, soothes, and deeply softens the skin. Plus, it smells heavenly. I assure your partner would love that oil too ;). I don’t dye my hair or use any heavy products – Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse does a great job to achieve great curls. My old friend Darphin is magical on hips – this is the only product I regularly purchase when I am in Paris. Daughter Of The Land (you can find it at EAST43) is also a new favourite on my face and neck area. Not heavy, and very refreshing.”

Tatcha Deep Hydration Firming Serum

“I’m very into Japanese products. They have a good understanding of product development and sourcing ingredients. Tatcha’s Deep Hydration Firming Serum is the best serum I have ever used. You can easily blend it with your favourite facial oil or moisturizer. It just takes one pump to cover the whole face, and dries quickly.”
