Braid Like A Boss
Confession: when it comes to our hair, we play it safe.
We’ll go crazy metallic nails or purple mascara before we venture outside our comfort zone with a new ‘do. Plus, like our beloved Céline Audrey’s, our hair gives us something to hide behind when we’re hungover as hell. It’s one of the few things in life where you can actually do nothing, and get away with it (yeah, my bed hair is totally intentional – I worked on it for 8 hours).
That said, even we get the itch to step it up a bit sometimes.
Picture this: mid-summer in Tulum, Lisa Marie Fernandez bikini, RayBan shades and a perfectly dishevelled braid, full of beachy texture swaying down our backs = impossible beach babe.
Or this:
501’s, a white tee, no make-up make-up and a braid with a few pieces casually falling out around the face. Dreamy.
With this in mind, we decided to get our sh*t together, and actually attempt what we once considered impossible – the braid. And guess what? Turns out there’s one step we’d been missing all along that makes life 100% easier.
So without further adieu, let us show you the easiest way to nail a dishevelled braid ever. All you need is two hands, a few elastics, texture spray, 5 minutes and you’ve got it in the bag.

Give your hair a bit of grit by spraying a texturising powder from roots to ends.
Part your hair where you like it (we go for straight down the middle) and tie your hair into a low ponytail with an elastic.
Tip: make it a rubber elastic, not your old faithful that you wear around your wrist because we’re going to break it.
Take a section of hair from the top of the ponytail and divide into two.
Now start to fold one over the other, but as you do, grab an extra piece of hair from each side as you go.
Secure at the end with another elastic.
N.B. Yes, at this point it looks like you’re prepping for your first day at school, but bare with us.
Now carefully (C A R E F U L L Y ) cut the top elastic with a pair of nail scissors.
Use your fingers to tease the braid a bit, loosening pieces here and there.
Spritz again with some texture powder, and repeat step 7 until you’re happy.
See? We told you it was easy.
