The Beginner’s Guide To Matte Skin
It’s official: matte skin is in (no? just ask Pat McGrath, who gave models enviable velvet-like complexions at over 12 shows this season). Case in point: Balmain and Dolce & Gabbana.
For the last five or so seasons, the buzz words backstage have been ‘dewy’, ‘sheer’, ‘radiant’ and ‘luminous’ – great, if you’re Anna Ewers and blessed with good genes and a spot-free complexion, but not so great if your skin falls short of perfect.
On the flip side, until now, we’ve been under the impression that matte skin means ‘dull’, ‘heavy’, ‘flat’ or ‘cakey’ but this isn’t the case when it’s done right.
